Mt. Pilchuck Conditioner — April 1st

Granite Mountain to Vesper Peak to Mt. Dickerman to Mt. Pilchuck......... No winter and then suddenly winter is upon us. It started out as a hike up Granite mt but as the snow continued to fall and the avalanche conditions went from low to high so did our destinations. On Saturday morning we were all set to go to Mt. Dickerman but now hwy 20 was closed again. So off to Mt. Pilchuck we drove. Lucky for us. What an amazing snow adventure in this newly arrived, late winter.
One word, magical.... That is what comes to mind when I think of our trek up Mt. Pilchuck last weekend. Tall towering forest, giant granite outcrops, snow fields cascading down from from an unscene summit, snow and wind sculptured trees, and good company. What more could you ask for on a trek?.... Hmmm, maybe an order of Teryaki chicken delivered to the lookout for lunch (o:
