This was the dog's day out. Syl and I took my two dogs, Ashe and Merlin, and her dog Inka for a snowshoe adventure. The day was sunny and beautiful. The snow had a hard crust on the surface and was deep enough to make us work. Merlin, as usual, broke trail for the other two dogs on the way up. Luckily he had Inka, a one and a half year old husky, to run with. They got a good workout. Ashe took her time and meandered up the road. Being an old dog that was about enough for her for the day.
Last stop was down to the Greenwater river where the dogs played in the river. Merlin, Inka, and myself took a daring jaunt across a downed tree that spanned the river. The hardest part was figuring out where the tree was under the snow.
