BBTC— Skookum Flats / White River, July 31st
Just another great mt. bike ride with the great folks of BBTC on Skookum Flats / White River. The trail is in awesome shape and everything is so green from all the wet weather we've had this year. It felt good to get back out on the trail by bike again. After taking a long break the trails seem new and my skills are rusty, which is great. It means its exciting again to retrain myself to loft over a root or make that steep climb up and over a rock while going up hill.
Merlin, my trail dog had a blast. He is happy to finally be out on the trails as well. It was a laid back ride. No one was in a hurry to hammer, Merlin is getting back into single track shape so I let him set the pace for me. We had a 12 year old rider with his downhill bike and full face helmet. His dad says he wants him to have all that weight. It slows him down. I'd hate to think what he is going to be like if he ever gets a light bike. There were quite a few riders who'd never done Skookum and White River before. I think they will be back.
I want to thank the group for the great ride and good company.
