Gas Works Park Z-Pulley Crevasse Rescue Training

This was the preparation class for our field trip to Mt. Baker the following weekend. We met in the evening on Wednesday at Gas Works Park to practice setting up the Z-Pulley system. It was pretty amusing. Here we were practicing our rope resuce technique while wild and wonderful frolicking children and Fremont musicians were practicing for the Fremont parade. I used to live in Seattle and wierd and wonderful sites were a daily part of life. Now I live in the country and of course the natural scenery out here is better, its less crowded, and there are more trees. Although I am still sometimes shocked by discarded shot gun shells, flannel, big pick-up trucks, and an occasional bear or two. Quite a change from burning sculptures, colored hair, and the Troll.
