Bob's Ride Report:
What can I say? Another awesome Esmeralda ride. The first part of the climb kicked my arse, Steph waited for us at the top of the saddle for 25 minutes before we showed up, I cleaned some sections I naver had before and blew other easy ones, the back side was about the average 3 dabber (One of these days....), the jeep road was manageable though I only rode about 75% this time, Gallagher Head Lake was splendid and we all swam for much longer than I ever had a group do so, the descent was it's usual mix of sweet trail and sphincter puckering technical lines, and the post ride refreshments and cannonballs into the river later just capped it off.
Go get some. It still has a good flower bloom going on and is snow free and logged out just as it was told to me a week or so ago. Fun, fun, fun.
Took a neighbor who is "just getting back into mountain biking" and though it almost killed him, he raved about it even through today, 24 hours later. Except fo the moment of silence about 12 today when he said, "24 hours ago I was sitting by the side of a hot dusty trail contemplating what the heck I was doing there. Now, I'm floating in the river with a cold beer in my hand. This is great!"
Thanks everyone. Good times indeed.
