Christmas Eve

Christmas 2005 was all about Molly and Adam. I spent an evening helping my brother and sister decorate the tree. With Molly's help ofcourse. Then another night we made Christmas cookies. It was Molly's first attempt to use a cookie cutter, spoon doe onto a cookie sheet, and decorate the sugar cookies with Craisins. The decorating went well until she discovered that the orange flavored Craisins were yummy.

On Christmas eve Molly opened my presents to her and I opened my presents from everyone . We opened my first present to her, A Fort like the ones I used to make as a kid out of cardboard, a diningroom table, and blankets. Only this one has two tents and a tunnel leading from one to the other. After tackling the job of putting the darn thing together it was a hit. Molly immediately loved it. The square tent was "hers". We played in it for about an hour. Quite a challenge for Lisa and I to get through the tunnel. Then more gifts. Purple gloves with beads around the wrists, some shirts, and a butterfly frame with a photo of her and her dad. Our friend Trish found a vintage rescue 911 aid car that she loves. You can push a button and it says " Aid 98 responding" and then the sound of a siren. She is too young to understand that her Aunty drives one of those for a living.

Adam got his presents from me after Molly went to bed. Ofcourse she would have wanted them. A small stuffed Gorilla and a bear. A stylish velour lounge suit and a pair of pajamas with glow in the dark dinasours. Although he was eyeing Molly's gift from Santa, a Radio Flyer Tricycle.

I had to work on Christmas day so we got up early and Molly discovered that Santa Claus had delivered her new "trikacycle". She immediately loved that gift. I kept thinking she was going to drive it into her new tent. Dad worked on teaching her how to use the peddles while mom watched. I have some photos of the family together near the Christmas tree.

I had to go to work but Lisa's family came over later in the day for more Christmas presents and fun. This was an awesome Christmas full of fun through a child's eyes. I can't wait until next year.
