| King County Council and All Cities in the Middle Green River Watershed Endorse Green River Gorge Mountains to Valley Greenway Middle Green River Coalition presented King County with letters of endorsement from all cities in the Middle Green River watershed (Auburn, Kent, Maple Valley, Black Diamond, Covington, and Enumclaw) for the "Green River Gorge Mountains to Valley Greenway" in April. The growth management committee forwarded it to the full King County council. They unanimously endorsed the Greenway. >More Info Richard Bangs is an international explorer who was one of the first to descend 35 of the world's greatest rivers including the Nile. He also founded Mountain Sobek expeditions, a world class adventure company. He is one of the founders of Expedia.com and is an award winning adventure writer. He endorsed the "Green River Gorge Mountains to Valley Greenway" because he has rafted the Green and recognizes that it is truly a place worth protecting. > Letter of Endorsement from Richard Bangs 2007 Green River Clean-up a Success The Green River Clean-up is an annual event where boaters and ground crews pick up garbage along the 12 mile Green River Gorge. This year was another great event even though the Army Corp wasn't generous in allowing increased flow for the clean-up. Flows are an issue on this river as the demand for city of Tacoma municipal water threatens flows for salmon.
